| A veteran teacher with many years of teaching experience, Mr. Carney’s students have received top prizes in numerous local piano competitions. At the college level, he has taught courses in Music Appreciation and Functional Piano Skills at Louisiana State University and served on the faculty of North Central Texas College where he also taught Music Appreciation. Mr. Carney holds both a Masters and Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance and has studied with internationally recognized teachers. Performances in recent years have taken Mr. Carney throughout the Midwest, South, and East Coast. Competitive performances have yielded many top prizes including First Place in the Janice K. Hodges Contemporary Piano Competition, First Place in the Missouri Music Teachers’ Association State Competition, and special recognition as a Presser Scholar by The Presser Foundation. |
